What are the different levels of sins? and How many are there? What are the consequences of sinning at the different levels? What is the "Algebraic Equation" that determines the consequences of our sinning? Can we escape being judged guilty at all levels of sins? and What can the outcome be for the different levels?
The purpose of this article is to attempt to answer these questions by a consideration of the biblical, historical, sociological, and scientific considerations of this subject.
What are the different levels of sins? and How many are there?
Historically, my fellow Christians have mostly ONLY concentrated their attention on the probabilities and consequences of their own, personal and individual sinning, and occasionally on the sins of others. Unbeknown to them is the fact that Human beings CAN AND DO SIN AT MANY DIFFERENT LEVELS.
Although we can sin at many undetermined levels of existence, and the number and nature of these levels are dependent on the states of our existence and on our involvement in these levels, this author, for illustrative purposes will oversimplify the probable actual number of levels to these:
1. THE INTERNAL LEVEL - these encompass sins the individual
commits against himself/herself, and are for the most part
emotional and spiritual sins which ONLY impact on our own
subjective existence, and might or might not impact on our
relations with others. For example, the "Delusions of
Grandeur," Racism, willful ignorance, or an exaggerated egotism, etc.
For most individuals these sins remain an internal
"secret self," as the individual externally feigns not having
them, and hypocritically inhibit themselves from letting
them affect their relations with others . . . For example, an
individual White person who externally treats Blacks with civility and
respect but internally is a racist.
2. THE EXTERNAL LEVEL - these encompass sins that the individual commits
whenever he/she interacts with others, be they immediate or extended family
members, friends and acquaintances, neighbors, or strangers, as well as
behaviors, feelings, and sentiments with which those interactions are carried
out. For example, the obvious disdain and disapproval with which we treat
people whom we have already judged not worthy of our respect and or consideration.
3. THE COMMUNAL LEVEL - these encompass sins an individual commits when
forming part of a communal group (community, town or city, region or state).
These take the form of our approving and agreeing, and at times even initiating
harmful or serious consequences upon a specific individual or group of individuals.
For example, the infamous "Jim Crow" laws enacted by towns and states against
newly freed African-American slaves in the Southern region of the US.
4. THE NATIONAL LEVEL - these encompass sins individuals commit when
agreeing, approving, and participating in unjust or illegal activities by the
national government against fellow citizens or citizens of other nations.
As Christians, we are supposed to disobey and resist injustices perpetrated
by the national government . . .
The notion of "America, right or wrong," does not absolve us of our nation's sins
at this level, nor of their tragic and painful consequences for us, just as blind obedience
to the "Fatherland" (Wikipedia: Fatherland) did not absolve the entire nation
of Germany for the sins of the Nazis in Germany, and the same blind obedience
to the Japanese Emperor did not absolve the Japanese citizens from the consequences
of the sins of the Japanese government in WWII . . .
5. THE GLOBAL LEVEL, or level as members of the entire "Human Race" - these
encompass sins that groups of nations, or ALL of Humanity commit against other
nations or peoples, and currently, against the Ecosystem of the Earth and its
biological environment (causing Global warming, the destruction of the Ozone Layer,
the extinction of the White "race", the pollution of all the world's waters, etc.),
when we do nothing to prevent them or participate in carrying them out, and do nothing
to resist and expose their harmful effects upon the rest of Humanity or the planet Earth . . .
What are the consequences of sinning at the different levels?
It should be obvious to the reader, that by the Supreme Law created by God to make possible the existence of this Universe, the physical "Law of Cause and Effect," or as applied to us behaviorally the "Law of Action and Consequence," better expressed by the inspired Word of God in the Bible, as the "Law of Sowing and Reaping," we will not be able to escape any of the punishments (consequences) for sinning at any or at all of these levels . . .
Indeed, the consequences of severely sinning at any of the higher levels (Communal, National, and Global) can override our being sin-free at the lower levels (Internal and External) . . .
History has shown that it matters NOT if we remain sinless at the individual levels (Internal and External) but commit severe sins at the higher levels (Communal, National, and Global), we will reap even MORE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES than would have been the case if we had been able to remain sinless at the higher levels and sinned severely at the individual level, which in effect is impossible.
For example, we can incur a faster, horrible, and very painful premature biological death as a consequence from our sins at the higher levels (Communal, National, and Global), even if remaining completely sinless at the individual levels (Internal and External), such as it happened to the citizens of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in WWII . . .
A further historical observation is that sins as "actions" that harm ourselves or others will inevitably and inescapably have "consequences" for us. By the law of Action and Consequence enacted by God, there is no such thing as an "inconsequential" action in this Universe. This is the reason why "God judgeth no man," as Jesus the Christ informed us:
Clearly, then, ALL of God's supposed "Judgments" in the Old Testament (be the Judgments of Adam and Eve, Sodom and Gomorrah, etc.) did not in fact occurred.
To believe or state otherwise is equivalent to saying that Jesus the Christ was a LIAR.
Two facts should be patently and obviously clear; On a continuous basis, God need not judge anyone, as the consequences of sins as actions which harm ourselves or others are automatic, inevitable, inescapable, and irreversible, by the "Law of Action and Consequence" (Biblical "Sowing and Reaping"); And further, that God cannot possibly any longer supernaturally interfere in these processes, once He created the "Law of Cause and Effect" as the MOST fundamental Law which made possible the creation of the Universe and of everything that exists!!!
In order to be able to create everything that exists, God had to FIRST create the "Law of Cause and Effect" which then made it possible for Him to be the FIRST OR ORIGINAL CAUSE of the CREATION of everything that exists . . . without that Law, the CREATION itself would not have been possible, even for God . . . God cannot possibly interfere by supernatural means in the workings of this Law, as ANY supernatural interference on the part of God upon His creation, the Universe, would necessitate His violating (suspending) the very laws which make it possible for it to remain stable or to exist at all, and the Universe would fall apart or cease to exist instantly altogether (By the way, about the Physical and Spiritual Worlds . . .) . . .
Embedded in the perfect and faultless workings of this Law is the fact that those actions we engage in which harm ourselves or others (sins) WILL have specific automatic, inevitable, inescapable, and irreversible consequences determined by the specific nature and severity of those actions, and not be random or non-specific consequences:
What is the "Algebraic Equation" that determines the consequences of our sinning?
In existence, our feelings, sentiments, and emotions are many, mixed, and sometimes conflicted, and are always accompanied by intellectual thoughts and ideas which might be correct, incorrect, sane, or disturbed. and furthermore, all of these are always tainted by previously learned or borrowed experiences, and therefore our internal and external actions will reflect and be the result of these complicated internally processing conditions.
There is no such thing as a simple and uncomplicated action possible for the Human being . . .
But no matter how complicated, deliberate, or unintentional the actions, there is a hierarchy of actions which appears to function to determine the level of severity of their consequences by an algebraic existential system, and which determines the consequences of our sinning at all possible levels . . .
For example, this author became aware through the media, of a case involving an adult male who kidnapped a neighbor's sick baby, with the intention of sexually abusing the baby young girl. While in his custody, the baby's medical condition got worse, and she had not been fed or bathed for hours. The kidnapper proceeded to go to a local pharmacy and bought the required medicines to alleviate the pain and suffering of the child, and stopped by a supermarket to pick up baby food for his charge. After administering the medicine, bathing, and feeding the baby, he proceeded to sexually abuse of her, and then decapitated the child and dismembered her lifeless body.
Existence (and the Justice System) appears to employ an "algebraic equation" in the form of an algebraic summation, assigning +'s and -'s to each of those actions, based on the degree of good and harm done to the child . . .
For example, and for illustrative purposes, in this particular case, a +10 to +100 could be assigned for each of the actions which benefited the child's welfare, and a -100 to -10,000 for the harmful actions done to the child, the worst of which was depriving her of her life:
-100 for kidnapping of the child
+100 for administering to the child's needs
(medicine, food, and bathing)
-5,000 for sexually abusing of the child
-10,000 for killing the child
-10,000 for decapitating and dismembering the
The resulting algebraic summation would thus be:
+100 = +100 . . .
-100 + -5,000 + -10,000 + -10,000 = -25,100,
+100 + -25,100 = -25,000
On an arbitrary scale of severity of consequences spanning 0 to -1,000, this individual exceeded the highest level of consequential severity 25-times over, and thus stood to receive as a consequence the death penalty in some States, or life in prison without parole in others . . . mindful that such consequences are arbitrarily created by the hand of Man . . . much more severe consequences would most likely be possible by the "Law of Action and Consequence," which although sometimes delayed in occurring, are nevertheless automatic, inevitable, inescapable, and irreversible . . .
While in college at the University of Illinois in Chicago, this author was invited by a fellow graduate student, who happened to be an African-American, to eat lunch at an eating "Cafe" in the Black ghetto of the southside of Chicago. While dining there, a racist white southerner (as judged by his accent) approached our table and proceeded to call my friend "a Nigger." My friend ignored the remark and went on eating his lunch. I immediately asked him why he didn't react at all. He answered that in effect he had just killed this particular racist individual. Perplexed, I asked "How?" He answered that obviously this particular white racist southerner was brand new to the southside Black ghetto of Chicago, and did not understand that such behaviour could get him instantly killed if he engaged in it with any of the more violent black residents of that city's area. He also explained that by not reacting in any way, he gave the man the unmistakable message that it was inconsequential for him to engage in such behavior, and as a result would repeat it over and over again in that particular area of the city of Chicago, and most likely would get killed as a result . . . As we left the establishment, we heard five loud shots . . . and looked back to see the white racist slumping dead on the ground . . .
As I pondered this remarkable event, I remembered the words of Jesus the Christ in the Bible:
The wisdom of these words is that we, as individuals, need not cast "consequences" on those that harm us in any way, someone else, willing to do so . . . will . . .
By the "Law of Action and Consequence," the consequences of our actions which are "sins" will be automatic, inevitable, inescapable, and irreversible . . .
Can we escape being judged guilty at all levels of sins? and What can the outcome be for the different levels?
In the Reality of the Fundamental Law of the present Universe (Action and Consequence), we cannot possibly escape Guiltiness of sins at ANY AND ALL of our levels of existence. This is what Jesus the Christ revealed when He challenged the judicial minds of His era and culture:
Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be
stoned: but what sayest thou?
This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him.
But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground,
as though he heard them not.
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them,
He that is without sin among you let him first cast a stone at her.
And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience,
went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last:
and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst." (Jn 8:4-9)
Since we most of the time concentrate our attention on the individual levels (Internal and External), most of us do not believe consciously that we are deliberately sinning at the higher levels of existence (Communal, National, and Global), and in our estimation the most severe sins we might be committing at those levels consist ONLY in not attempting to stop them by any means possible for us when we occasionally become aware of them . . . We nevertheless will directly reap the very severely painful consequences of those sins committed at the higher levels of existence (Communal, National, and Global) in our name by the entities acting in our behalf and with our implicit consent at those levels, as illustrated above for the citizens of Germany and Japan in WWII . . .
THOSE CONSEQUENCES CAN, AND FREQUENTLY ARE, TOTALLY INEVITABLE, INESCAPABLE, IRREVERSIBLE, AND SWIFTLY MORE SEVERE AND MORE PAINFUL THAN THE CONSEQUENCES WE COULD RECEIVE FROM OUR MOST SEVERE LIFELONG SINS AT THE INDIVIDUAL LEVELS (INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL) . . .
The consequences we incur for sins at the individual levels (Internal and External), will be delayed and are individualized by existence, and we might be the ONLY ones affected . . . however, the consequences of our sinning at the higher levels (Communal, National, and Global), we will share with ALL other members of those groupings, and might be swifter, and more painful and severe than the worst consequences of our lifelong sins at our individual levels (Internal and External) . . .
The Old Testament is replete with instances in which the Nation of Israel then was keenly aware that national consequences in Existence (punishments from God in their conceptualization then), had been the result of sins at the level of their national existence:
So, common Israeli citizens and the nation as a whole suffered the consequences of sins solely committed by David, their King . . .
Given that in the present era, governments at all levels, and Humanity at large are committing great and grievous sins, for example, the USA against the Muslims of the world, conservative American Republicans and the "Tea Party" against the poor, Women, Blacks, Latinos, Asiatics, Gays and Lesbians, college students, children of poverty, the sick and incapacitated, the American Middle Class, Labor Unions, Social Security and Medicare recipients, victims of mass gun violence, legal and illegal immigrants, the auto industries, small businesses, and the American and World's Economies; And white American policemen are committing unspeakable violence on Black citizens (By the way, about the Coming Racial (Ethnic) Civil War in America . . .); And Humanity at large is committing sins against the Earth's environment, causing Global warming, the destruction of the Ozone Layer with its consequent extinction of the White "race", and the pollution of the soil, air, and all of the world's waters, etc., and currently in widespread arming of themselves to utterly destroy the whole planet with nuclear armaments, we should be preparing to soon suffer swiftly of extremely painful and lethal consequences of APOCALYPTIC proportions, WHICH NONE OF US WILL BE ABLE TO AVOID . . .
The consequences for ANY AND ALL of our lifelong sins at our individual levels, no matter how severe, will pale in comparison to the Apocalyptic consequences for our past and present Communal, National, and Global sins about to occur, AND WHICH WE ARE ALL ABOUT TO SUFFER . . .
Food for thought
Only a few people in the world will be able to survive after this global suicide,
and those will be the people who are deeply rooted in consciousness: alert, aware,
loving, and ready to disconnect themselves with the past completely and unconditionally,
and ready to begin the New Man and the new humanity with the freshness of a child.
Their only hope is a self-realized being. It is too late to do anything to prevent
the immense destruction that is going to happen. If we can protect only a few genuine
human beings, that will be enough, more than enough. The past of humanity has been completely
accidental; they have been doing things without knowing the consequences.
Now we are suffering the consequences, and there is no way to change those consequences."

"He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say,
It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day:
for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern
the face of the sky; but
CAN YE NOT DISCERN THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES?" (Mt 16:2-3)
"Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly," (Rv 2:16)
